It's an image just like any other. You can't use the GIF the thumbnail, but you can use GIFs anywhere else here using Markdown the same way you would do any other image.

* @Jason van Gumster * yes but what is the markdown when you are dragging it from your desktop? and I tried from mediafire there is a function to share but this not playing it

* @zgorg2004 * Ah... I see what you're getting at with the drag-and-drop attaching feature. It seems that doing so does some automatic processing that converts the file to a JPEG (likely to save disk space). Until that gets changed, you'll likely need to host the image elsewhere (like imgur ). Then you can use Markdown like so:

![](https://i.imgur.com/yPdgyvq.gif)

And you get this:

* @Jason van Gumster * ok thks a lot for the exact answer I tried from mediafire and from Gumster now it's working. so I don't erase this post maybe it can be useful?

* @zgorg2004 * Not a problem. The GIF to JPEG auto-conversion is probably worth covering in a separate Meta post. I'll put that up now.

How do you retrive the url of the gif once it's uploaded on blender.community ? I only get a tag like : {media RBmY} that is getting "video processing" indefinetly (it's supposed to be a gif)

I also have the name of the image (but can't right-click open in new tab to get the url of the .gif)

I could always upload to imgur, but i'd prefer it to be on blender.community directly as they could change provider if they want, in my end if I upload to imgur and post the url here, it'll be linked to my imgur account (or guest/annonymous if i'm not sign-in) and may not be saved if one day imgur collapse.

can you share the link of the file?
