Automerge Inset
Instead of overlapping other faces when using the inset tool, there would be an option to merge when faces start to overlap.

I don't know, sounds kind of buggy ;)
* @Piotr Adamowicz * it would colapse faces when starting to overlap, most like the mirror modifier does when you activate the merge option.
* @uusamuel * He was making a joke on the "insect," typo. I assume you meant either "Intersect," or "Inset."

you obviously mean 'inset', and yes having the verts merge (optional) or even having them do a bevel staying away from eachother would mean the world to me. Nothing more annoying than doing an inset and seeing your mesh go tits up.
