Overlays: Distance from current to last vertex

This would help my workflow immensely and seems relatively simple to implement.

Provide an option in the overlay menu where - when enabled - the distance between the last two vertices clicked is displayed - either in the top left of the screen (like the statistics overlay) or in a similar fashion to the measure tool.

The measure tool offers the same functionality - but when making many precise adjustments, its use can become cumbersome, and requires deletion of the measurement each time.
