Luminosity threshold for use together with noise threshold?

Do you guys think it could be possible to implement some kind of luminosity threshold to protect darker areas of the render from higher values of the noise threshold? I have been testing blender 3.0 and the noise threshold with higher values works fine in well-lighted areas but creates blocks of black noise in darker areas.

Would it be possible to implement such a feature that tells Blender to preserve those darker areas until the noise is acceptable? I believe those areas were the places where the program should give more attention to but it does not seem the case. high.png

You have adaptive sampling. If you set max samples 400 and min samples 200, in the darker parts will apply 400 because is noticiable more noised, the front part will have around 200 cause of adaptive sampling

I will make some tests here. Thank you for the tip. I completely forgot about the minimum samples. Maybe it solves everything. I am feeling stupid, right now.

Well, I believe I can live with that but there are some inconveniences. Sometimes, like in this case, I have some areas that don't receive any light samples even if I put the amount of the minimum samples over 600, while I have huge areas that don't need even half of that to look ok, but still they are receiving samples because I am forcing them to. So, maybe I need to set a minimum amount of samples that washes away any benefit of using the noise threshold at all.

The point here was really to limit the need of those samples to those difficult areas while letting the other ones as they are, to have the biggest benefit of the feature possible.

I made a whole test and created a image to compare both but then I realised it's not possible to upload an image here. Basically I had a very poor result with adaptive samples min 600 max 4000 getting a render time of 1 min 59 sec, while I got a pretty acceptable result with adaptive samples off using 1600 samples and a render time of 1 min 44 sec.

Min samples are for the zones that produces less noise. So max samples goes to that holes

Remember too that resolution is more important than more samples. i never needed more than 600 samples. Blender studio also used that

well, if minimum samples are for the areas with less noise, the maximum amount of samples should already have influenced those spots, and this did not happen.

Yes, I know that. This image is just a little part of a gib image. The actual render is more that 3000x2000

On the other hand, maybe I should think it could be a case of adding more light sources and such a scene is probably struggling with the lack of them, sinco no one else have this kind of issues.
