basically running out of shortcuts for keys, so maybe time to think of a new system. Example reusing 1-9 keys to switch editors.

But these keys are already used for selection modes, where would you put these?

Good point. But the collection keys weren't just 1-9, they also included shift and alt modifiers. So instead it could be shift + 1-9. I mention this more in a comment of the post.
