Some ideas about how to improve the Node Editor for working with big and complex node systems
It is very easy to get confused when dealing with complex node systems. I propose to improve the Node editor for working with big and complex nodes system:
- provide the ability to change the colors of the wiring — just like how you can set custom colors for collections now;
- add the new option — text hints for wires;
3. Add the new node (or option for existing nodes) — Commentary. It will be useful to put nodes in order:
6 Comments
I'd be happy with a text or comment node with a color property and visible text box imbedded inside. I imagine that would be easier to add to core blender code then adding line text . it could also later on function as a part of switch or logic node as input based on text values like a input float/interger value node .
I think, the comment and wiretext must only be visible when hovering over it. The text doesn't have to follow the line.
I agree with comments but the text on path thing I imagine I'd accidentally remove those often while switching connections aroung.
I mean this text will be "glued" to the wire. And when switching a wire to another socket, the text should move with the wire.
but what if I remove a wire?
Obviously, the wire will disappear. With all labels, colors, and other properties.
