Small UI Improvement in keymap

  • the scroll bar is very close to the "undo changes" or "delete keymap" buttons on the right side of the keymap editor. This is scary to me because I want to use the scroll bar without risking pressing these buttons and losing my hotkey configs, so I never use the scroll bar.
  • The scroll bar is useful because scrolling can take ages in the keymap editor, but I still prefer scrolling over taking the risk of misclicking.
  • Another request: If possible, introducing mouse acceleration when scrolling in the Keymap Editor would make it a lot easier to navigate.

This is a valid bug report, not a feature request. Overlapping scrollbars on buttons has already been fixed in Outliner.

Mouse scrolling acceleration. Yeah. It's just terrible how it works now, especially on a macOS.

yup. I didn't even notice that they are overlapping, but they surely do!

Use MMB-drag. All it will do is move. Zero interaction with buttons etc. So totally safe. And as fast as your wrist. I assume you have Input > Mouse > Continuous Grab activated, so if you have lots of things expanded in the Keymap area motion will not stop when the cursor hits frame top / bottom. I use MMB-drag all over the interface..... headers etc.

Page up / down jump to top / bottom, helps when browsing huge unfolded keymap lists.

Numpad plus / minus can zoom in / out list and show more entries at one screen (but that makes buttons smaller and exaggerates issue #1 from your list).

I think porting some of outliner features like shift click to unfold / fold subcategories would help with keymaps too.

You might find that scrolling with the mouse wheel alleviates a couple of your concerns a bit.

that's what I do, but it's too slow
