Preview of camera custom aspect ratio in viewports
How hard it could be to implement previewing the custom aspect ratio of the camera in the viewports (stretched view), for all modes - Eevee, Cycles... or at least in Workbench?
The benefits we get from this are:
- Realtime preview of the stretched render result (...obviously), so that we instantly know how the render result will look like.
- An extremely handful tool for precision modelling. It will be a significant upgrade in the current way of managing really subtle changes in topology. This is a real feature in automotive styling software packages where such precision matters a lot.

You could try using this workaround using a scaled instanced collection containing your model:

I do admit this would be pretty nice to have baked right into the viewport instead. For renders, you can change the aspect ratio, but the viewport doesn't support it.
