'Master Collection-Object' ~ would solve so many Scene-Making problems single-handedly

Hey, folks!

You know what would be great? (for anyone making more advanced Scenes and Assets in Blender)

A "Master" Collection OBJECT.

(sorry, just a random draft icon; for differentiation) MasterCollection.png

That is, a new, mix-category 'THING' in the whole UI, which shares, at the same time, Collection functionalities for the Outliner, and Object functionalities for the 3D Viewport Editor.

NOTE: I don't know a better name for it yet, but 'Master Collection' might be good enough... although 'Master Collection-Object' would be clearer, or perhaps 'Master Object-Collection'? Any better naming?

CONCEPT: WHAT COULD IT DO FOR US?

  1. First: We wouldn't need to rely on an Empty Object Parent anymore, for organizing a Collection of a compund Asset made out of multiple Objects (please, see case scenario in screenshot below). Actually, we wouldn't rely on the basic Collection either, because the 'Master Collection-Object' at the same time exists in the 3D Viewport Editor, so we can just PARENT the Assets Objects to it, furthermore, we can organize the Outliner already with the 'Master Collection-Object', without the needing to have a regular Collection (we might still want to use regular Collections and/or Empty Objects of course, but that would not be necessary anymore for achieving fundamental organizational behaviors we want!). It's 2 in 1 basically. We can then Asset-Mark the 'Master Collection-Object'.

  1. Instancing + Object-Modifications. This part I'm a bit confused about, but my idea right now is that the 'Master Collection-Object', because it shares Object functionalities, it would be capable, even, of employing simple yet essential tricks, such as Mirror Modifier, Array Modifier, besides Instancing (Object-based), which could be propagated to its Children Objects. This would make CG Assets creation in Blender waaaaaaaay more effective. Note: of course, let's not forget that, because it shares Object functionalities, the Master Collection-Object can be a Parent, and can be Transformed (Location/Rotation/Scale), propagating its Transforms to its Children --which a regular Collection CANNOT do!

  2. Ohnoes...!! (please, check screenshot below) Yep. Congrats if you can understand this Outliner😸. Even if we can understand it, we could make things much easier for Scenes and Assets management, if we just had a 'Master Collection-Object' I believe. You see, we wouldn't have to rely on 'doubles' combos: Empty Objects + Collections for each single thing I want to organize in the Outliner; I would do everything, again, 2 in 1: a single 'Master Collection-Object' would solve the problem of both at once.

Note: What (I believe I lacked in that Outliner, was that I missed to have extra Collections for the Emtpy Object Parents... (because I DIDN'T WANT to have even more Collections!!!), and so that Library Overrode VaseTreeSmall-01 (showing incoveniently more at the top in the hierarchy) would be able to be Nested inside a new Collection containing the Emtpy Object "07-MASST". I used to do that before... but, whatever I do, in a bigger Scene, is not very confortable AS IT COULD BE, if we just had a new feature in Blender which could combine, certain qualities of the Collection and of the Object.

EXTRA CONSIDERATIONS:

I was thinking about a bit crazy possibility of... maybe Toggle On/Off a Collection's new Property, as a Checkbox Option, that would turn, any Collection, on-demand, into a 'Master Collection-Object', or deturn it back to a regular Collection.

That would be fantastic! But the problems which can emerge from this Toggle might a bit overwhelming.

Like, imagine what would happen to Parented Objects to a 'Master Collection-Object', if it suddenly was told (Disable 'Master Collection-Object' Option in it) to become a regular Collection once again? 😹I see a lot of inadequate behaviors that could wreak havoc entire Assets or Scenes like that in very annoying ways; and I cannot think of a good alternative to this (maybe, WARNING MESSAGES?!?). However, I still think that perhaps there is a good path in this Toggling feature? like, expanding the Collection to something else? Another problem is, what would happen to its Object Origin, in whichever case scenario (this one is a simpler question though)?

Thanks for your attention!
