Greasepencil selection in draw mode
At the moment the greasepencil Lasso deletes strokes while in draw mode.
While I understand this was a design decision, to me this is more likely to confuse new users as virtually no other 2D software doesn't let you select lines while you're drawing.
Having to change mode just to select is slowing down execution and removing the fluidity that existed before.
Is anyone actually using this function? Would you be in favor of a return of the selection functions in draw mode?

You mean the Cutter tool? That tool has a lot of potential. I hope it eventually becomes like the cutter tool in ToonBoom where you can cut something and have it split the mesh and opens up a lot of possibilities with masking. Look up "ToonBoom Cutter tool" if you're interested. Hopefully it's the direction it's headed. Totally half baked right now and the mesh fill method in GP needs a lot of work. It needs more geo generated to support verts being deleted.
In general I'm OK with poppin into edit or sculpt modes to manipulate the polys. Thanks to B3d's great UI you're in a different mode in the blink of an eye. I thought that hybrid experimental combo method they had going for a minute was really confusing.
* @FrankS * No I'm talking about the lasso (ctrl+alt+right click)
It's basically the same function as the normal select lasso, but deletes in draw mode instead of selecting.
* @FrankS * as for this:
Do you use the mouse? Or shortcuts? As it is I've remapped B to draw mode, L to edit mode and E to sculpt to kind of immitate the way I would select the brush and the lasso in other softwares, but something I use all the time in toonboom for example is using ctrl to activate the lasso temporarily and then the arrow keys to move line around. I find it very hard to work without.
(sorry for the double post, somehow editing doesn't seem to work)
* @m.chaptel * That's a cool way to do it. I don't have any custom keys mapped ATM. I do a lot of 3d as well so a GP specific keymap would drive me nuts.
I like the Quick Favorites system. I use Tablet 75% of the time so I use emulate 3d mouse and recently started trying out Machine3Tools UI stytem. It puts everything really close together. The new Specials context menu is starting to look pretty good. If they could have color swatches and brushes it could be good. Kind of like Krita but less obtrusive.
The cutting off lasso tool by its self isn't getting much use. I was hoping that it would turn into something more eventually. The geo for filled needs to be upped so we can really cut into it. Or some kind of system where we're actually drawing and editing a texture map might be good.
