Command line overrides for the 'Overwrite' and 'Placeholder' render options

If you're rendering from the command line using multiple render instances, it's really useful to be able to make sure that the render is not overwriting frames, and that it's creating placeholders. You can do it by adding

--python-expr "import bpy; bpy.data.scenes[0].render.use_overwrite=False; bpy.data.scenes[0].render.use_placeholder=True"

to the command, but that's a lot of work. A command line option like --no_overwrite and --placeholders (and their inverses) would be handy.

As in your other idea: You really should take a look at render managers. For instance in b-renderon you could just drag your blend file in a cue and set it to use your own preset profile with all the settings you want already applied including dynamic output paths and custom commands etc.. No need to write anything in a command line, you only pick the preset you've built once. And it spits out these commands underwater. Than you have a good UI and don't need to fiddle around with all this.

Oh, and I tried making an alias for blender that included the expression, but it has to go after the name of the project file. The workaround is to create a shell script, but I feel like we shouldn't have to.
