copy render image to another slot
this would be useful in addition to a proper non-destructive render region feature, to compare fast two render images.

How does your proposal differ from this one ?
I want to have a copy of my render on another slot so I can re-render jsut a small region and comparing before-after very fast.
In that case, could you elaborate on how it would work (preferably with mock-up images)? Would there be an additional menu item or button in the UV/Image Editor to do this? How would you ensure that Blender only over-writes this copied background when it's supposed to?
