Improved space key shortcuts

I would like to see a smooth zoom function with improved space key shortcuts.

This function allows users to zoom in and out by dragging the screen while pressing Ctrl + Space key (or Ctrl + Alt + Space key).

This function is also available in clipstudio, MediBang Paint, Photoshop, etc.

If you want to use the spacebar like this, nothing prevents you to edit the keymap, right?

Really! Can I zoom in and out by dragging vertically? Can I also move the screen by pressing only the space key? Please help!

You can zoom by holding down Ctrl MMB and moving the mouse.

As for customizing the keymap, go in the Edit Menu > Preferences > Keymap tab and have fun.

Thanks!!! If you don't mind, I would like to see a screenshot of the settings screen. When I say move with the space key, I mean move in a flat plane only while pressing the space key!

Either search for Pan View name, or set the search bar to key-binding and search for sift middle mouse , that should display all the relevant hotkeys. Then customize whatever you want.

Thank you! I couldn't do it, but if what I want to do is possible, I might be able to do it when I eventually figure it out!
