blender fur/hair development suggestions
I wrote a google doc regarding hair improvements a while back. The doc was shared with the developer mail thread, but I thought I'd drop it here as well

Suggestion for new groom brush ( strand groom brush) Brush that grooms the strands in proximity to brush at mouse down event. Also projects to visible geometry from camera, tapers and redraws length
Suggestion for procedural hair node setup
Selection groups
Fix for current issue with cutting hair resulting in curve with non uniform distribution of points
Pruning short hair curves
Fix for current issue: Hard to control density of curves when using "add brush"

If at all possible, could you include the main thrust of your proposal here, kind of like an abstract? That would help people get a better understanding of what they're about to read.
@Jason van Gumster: Thanks for the feedback. Added the main stuff in the comment. Thanks!
the strand groom brush idea seems incredibly useful
@Rico Cilliers: You're definitely the person to ask on grooming features! :D
Although this is strictly shader related, I would add my proposal to the list blender.community/c/rightclickselect/Hpbbbc/
Fur is a important topic, lighter fur on the viewport not weight.
