Lattice in Geometry Nodes

I´d like to suggest the option to include a simple Lattice object in Geometry Nodes.

Description of the Problem: Due to the new import Format from .abc animations it´s kinda difficult to implement simple Modifiers like the lattice. It would be great if you could implement an easy way to integrate a lattice within a Geometry Node setup.

Maybe a few solutions:

  1. add a simple Lattice Object in the GeoNodes setup which can deform the final mesh output
  2. Make it possible to add a Lattice Modifier on an Object with GeoNodes that deforms everything as it´s supposed to.

(would be great because then you don´t have to go in the GeoNode setup)

kalpit

why dont you add lattice modifier over geo node modifier.

Hi kalpit, thanks for you tip - we´ve implemented this in our workflow for over a year now i think. Our current problem is that this setup won´t work anymore when you import an abc. particle simulation from houdini as an example and try to deform it afterwards (maybe also see my other post.) That´s why it would be great to implement a lattice node in GeoNodes. This way we can work around our issue by implementing the lattice directly in the particle/render setup in GeoNodes. :) hope this explains the issue

I think this problem comes from the new way abc. imports are handled - but thats only a guess...(we can´t add a lattice modifier on our particles since they aren´t imported as a mesh object anymore. Maybe we´re missing something here in the import settings - please let me know if you have an answer :) thanks
