Laplace deformation for sculpt mode brushes
Laplace deformation for sculpt mode brushes (including sculpture for grease pencil).
Especially for brushes such as grab, rotate, scale and snake / hook. You could link through a slider bar in the brush options. Defining also the level of influence.
See in the videos of the links below how this option interestingly affects the interaction as the object. In sculpture mode the selected area would be that the brush was working:

Very interesting feature and I agree that it is very situable for grab/rotate. But i assume it can be very expensive (calculation time) for dense meshes.
Perhaps I have found a way to lower processing costs. But I do not understand enough of computer science to state this without your assessment. I also would not know how to do the code. But the logic is this:
Use Mesh Deform!
First, a copy of the template would be made. And then, this copy would receive a Decimate. Maybe even receive a Decimate before making the copy. And then eliminate the Decimate modifications of the original non-destructively.
And then use the simplified mesh as the target of the Mesh Deform Modifier of the original model
And then apply the Laplacian Deformation in the simplified mesh instead of using in the original, saturated vertices
The deformation process should be correctly transferred to the original mesh through the Mesh Deform
Yup. Even for 100k tris it does 1 fps. So use mask instead.
