Easy switch for Modifiers in edit mode
I often switch between edit mode and object mode and am often confronted with low edit speeds and reactivity.
This idea is about a second (maybe reduced) set of settings of the modifiers that only applies in edit mode.
Lets say you want to have subdivision active at all times but need both reactivity while editing and a more finalized view for quickly checking out the result.
my situation is more complicated. I work on a project that requires multiple instances of shrinkwraps, solidify, bevel and then subdivision. while completly deactivating these modifiers in edit mode as the usual approach is often enough, id like to have more options to tuning these.
Lets say the finalized viewing settings are multiple bevel segments, solidify with high quality normals and even thickness, subdivision with a setting of 4 subdivions and quality ranging from 5 to 6. While looking quite nice these settings are overkill for a quick edit.
Sometimes I wish I had a second row of these settings just for edit mode because the transition between fully active and fully deactivated modifiers can be quite harsh.
I love blender ~sev~

Try making a base mesh with minimal modifiers and then a linked duplicate with all the modifiers. You can even combine the modifiers of both objects by using geometry nodes to get the final geometry from the first object (modifiers included) and then add more modifiers on top of that.
that would actually make blender calculate both objects. i was aiming at reactivity while editing and final looks in object mode.
