Corner weights for subdivision surfaces (SubD)

Currently it seems to only be possible to specify crease weights for the subdivision surface modifier. It should also be possible to specifiy edge weights for each vertex which will then be used for the "Boundary Smooth: Keep Corners" option.

It seems to me that the OpenSubdiv patch option "useInfSharpPatch" is not set in Blender and that is one problem why not all corners are not rendered "sharp".

zuorion

Could You elaborate? What that changes compared to vertex creases?

johschmitz Author

It seems that vertex creases have not been released (only edge creases) but are on the way as discussed here:

at least I do not see them in the 3.0.1 GUI. Maybe I am missing something?

Vertex creasing is available in Blender 3.1.

I will give 3.1 a try. Are you setting the "useInfSharpPatch" patch option or is it at least possible as an option in the GUI?

zuorion

Its possible as regular option.
