Keyframe only animated property.
Basically reducing auto key to just the property you are actually animating. So, if you are only animating the Z rotation of a hand at frame 50, you only get a keyframe for the Z rotation at frame 50. Currently you have a choice of animating everything and generating lots of keys you don't need, or animating only preselected properties, which restricts you (and still generates more keys than you want).

Here is a link to a script I already have:
dropbox.com/s/izzfhosizhsmzyq/keyAlreadyKeyed.py
Put it in this path:
C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\3.1\scripts\startup
And under Keymap create a new shortcut in 3D View, write "animation.key_already_keyed" into the textfield of the shortcut and set your desired shortcut
Wait, that keys "already keyed" channels? That is already possible if you set the Active Keying set to "Available" and enable the autokey option "Only active keying set":
If I understood correctly, the proposal, the goal is to autokey only the changeg value, independetly of what is already keyed or keyable. Which is quite a crucial thing in many cases, and the default behavior in some other softwares.
I'm actually surprised it's not a thing already.
UI wise it could be a simple option there:
Blender now has a "keyframe only needed" option, which for some reason is hidden away in the preferences>animation panel (it should really be a checkbox right next to the autokey button). This is an improvement, but still you're getting X,Y and Z keyframes even if you're only moving on one axis. Could it be that at it's core Blender cannot differentiate between local and global axes...? -L0lock- I agree with your suggestion 100%.
