Quad view: Enable different shading modes and visibility settings per view

Is it possible to implement the option to set different shading modes and visibility settings in quad view per view, especially between the perspective and orthographic views?

I myself for example like to work in solid, shaded or rendered mode in the perspective view partially with overlays turned off to better see, what I will eventually get in my render but prefer to have wireframe mode and overlays enabled in the orthographic views, because this way you can edit the objects better. So currently one constantly needs to jump back and forth between the settings when toggling to quad view and you also don't get both shading options at the same time (eg see how your render is being affected when wanting/needing to move something around in wireframe mode).

I know I can set this up myself like this for example:

quadViewProposal

But this requires to create an extra workspace which is not as flexible of course and you also loose the ability to easily toggle between full and quad view via a shortcut.

Therefor it would be great to implement this option. Thank you!

Quad view is pretty much abandoned/deprecated feature in Blender but I wouldn't mind it getting some facelift and features so have my upvote

This would be very helpful.

Blender's implementation of the quad view is so anemic that it's hardly worth using at all without a major update.

This would be great (and is standard in other 3d DCC apps). I find myself opining for this every time I work in Blender. The entire utility of quad-view is to edit in schematic views while a shaded perspective view previews the results.

Creating custom layouts with separate 3d Viewer panes is laborious, creates extra UI clutter, and loses the keyboard shortcut (as per OP) to quickly switch between quad and single view.

Just make a new workspace with the 4 (or more) viewports you want and configure them how you want. Save your default scene file.
