Automatic Blender updates

Hi guys,

with quite fast developing cycle it could be really great if Blender would be able to perform automatic update. Don't know how difficult it will be to implement, but still it makes sense to me to have this feature available.

If you want something to deliver latest unstable builds you could try Blender Version Manager or UpdaterCLI . There are others you can find on BlenderArtists forum.

If you want he latest stable version I suggest you install Blender via Steam or Windows Marketplace where latest updates are pushed out.

Not good idea. It may looks a a good idea for newbie or someone who come from other software. But when become pro user and your Blender grown by ton of different customizes and addons and all this stuff may be too sensitive and conflict with new updates - you will don't find auto update as good idea :)

That could wreak havoc in production, not to mention the breaking of scripts and addons. Maybe a popup that shows you there's a new version? But auto update for production critical software. No thanks ;)
