Automatically convert image sequence to video after rendering

I understand the benefits of rendering to an image sequence, but it's a hassle to have to manually set up the conversion to video.

It would be great if Blender could automatically compile the image sequence into a specified video format β€”and then optionally delete the loose images β€” after rendering the image sequence.

If you want this now, my turbo tools addon does this, speeds up cycles render times, and also removes animation flicker when it converts the image sequence to your movie file.

In fact with the addon you don't even need to render to an image sequence. You can render to an mp4, and it will automatically create a full quality image sequence to resume rendering from in case of a blender crash etc.
