Extensions UI Improvements - Rename panel and Add View Detail button
Hello, I have 2 suggestions for the Extensions Panel
- Rename the Get Extensions panel to Extensions:
- 'Get' implies some limited functionality of this tab
- also no other tab needs an additional verb in the title
- Add a 'View Detail' button when the Extension is installed as it is often the thing User does first when installing an Add-on

I don't follow the reasonining of
'Get' implies some limited functionality of this tab. It's a page to download extensions, so yes we are litterally adding functionalities (and other things) to Blender. Also naming it only "Extensions" could imply that you can do anything related to extensions there. I.E. I fear a tab named only "extension" could lead people to expect being able to set an addon's preferences, for example.
But this tab is meant to be a place where you can "only" download (or "get") and uninstall extensions. Extensions can be add-ons or themes (and maybe other things later) which each have their dedicated places to be managed.
Perhaps another word would be better, but I don't see which one. "Download" or "Install" might overflow.
Thanks for the response. What I meant was the word 'Get' is a very generic verb which implies just 'Getting an Extension' which is not a very useful information to the User (just like you dont need to have a word 'Manage Addons' but 'Addons' is enough.
If it was some very specific action that you perform with extensions, then it would be something different.
I think I notice a more general UI issue with the Extensions Tab: Addons and Themes are types of Extensions but this is not reflected in the hierarchy of the Preferences menu and therefore when I install some addon in the Extensions tab and then I need to go to the Addons tab to activate it, it just seems like jumping from menu to menu instead of going to a 'submenu'.
It is nitpicking but I think this decision makes blender UI a bit more confusing.
