Lock View to Selected

This option would lock the view to the currently selected item automatically. Currently you can lock the view to a specific object or the 3d cursor. This additional option would come in very handy when sorting through and organizing many items in the outliner in a scene without having to press the hotkey (.) for "frame selected" each time a different item is selected. I guess this would really just be an option to keep "frame selected" on so I would think it shouldn't be that hard to implement. This option could be put under View > View Lock. I have this turned on most of the time when I use Lightwave. You don't know what your missing until you use this feature.

The problem I usually face in Blender projects (the bigger the World Space used, the more complicated it gets), is constantly losing the Framing on whichever Object or Object-inside-element I'm working with... Sometimes I have to use "Home" followed by "." combo to solve this. Maybe this Request you propose could improve that? I believe there is something to improve in that subject anyways.

But it would be nice if you could provide a clip of the software in question and how that feature works there the way you have described.

Yes I was thinking about posting a short clip showing how it works in Lightwave which has had this features for at least 10 years if not longer. I will probably try and post a clip soon for those wo might not understand what I have explained above. I also know what you mean about the weird issues Blender can have with framing objects or selections you are working on. I run into this annoyance in Blender sometimes as well.
