improve ctrl space (maximize hovered editor)
Often I want to maximise two editors, but instead have to create a new workspace because ctrl space can only maximise the hovered editor.
I propose that while ctrl space is held down, the user can click the mouse on several editors to select them for maximisation, then when releasing ctrl space, all of those editor are maximised and positioned based on their previous positional relationship to each other. If non are clicked, then just the hovered one is maximised (same as current).
For example if you have a 3d viewport and a shader editor below, and then 3 vertical panels to the right. You could maximise just the shader editor and 3d view.
Much faster than creating a new workspace.
Additonally, when maximized, you could have an option to create a workspace from the maximized layout. This would also allow you to have a workspace with all available editors open, and use it as a quick workspace pallet/creator. Ctrl Space, click the editors you want, let go to maximise them, and then convert to workspace if you want to.

I fully support this, since I've encountered myself wanting to do this several times already.
The title doesn't seem to reflect what you mean in the body, and mixes up maximizing with fullscreening. It should probably be more something like "maximize multiple areas at once".
Plus making an single area fullscreen is already possible: use the menu Window > Toggle Window Fullscreen to set Blender's window to fullscreen, then use ⎈ Ctrl ⎇ Alt Space to fullscreen the area.
But yes, that sounds like something that would be really useful!
