Array and Mirror modifiers for lights
As the title says, I think that these two modifiers would be extremely beneficial for lights, I can imagine situations where we quickly need a group of lights that need to be the same value and color, and we just need to change the values of one. I know that there is the option of duplicate linked, but it can get quite slow when we need to have an array of like 10 or 20 lights.

Hopefully there will be some kind of "Instance Array," node when the modifier stack becomes node based
* @Zach Hixson * what's the difference with the current array modifier?
* @-L0Lock- * The two would function differently. The current Array modifier modifies mesh data contained within the object. This is great if you want to apply more modifiers after it, but not great for performance or if you want to make an array out of something other than a mesh (IE: A light).
Instance Array would instance the object, giving a massive performance boost and also working with objects other than meshes.
* @Zach Hixson * I see, sounds good. Though I guess it can't work with mesh-level options like merging I guess 🤔
* @-L0Lock- * With modifier nodes, it could very well be possible. Original Mesh > Instance > Convert back to mesh node > Weld Node. With nodes anything is possible 😁
But array-instancer would be nice for everything. {attachment 52685350png}
I really wish this had actually become a thing, or the ability to modify instances. or for lights to just attach themselves to their parented object and use its array or mirror.
Please, yes, this. It is trivial to instance a light using collection instances, it is trivial to put things in linear or grided or circular arrays. And it would be very useful to do this without introducing essentially arbitrary vertices to make it work.
Good to know: You can assign G R S to the gizmos in a specific interaction mode.
I.E. switch to pose mode, and use the
right click→assign shortcuton a gizmo, the shortcut will be set for pose mode only.yes this i would like to see!!
I never thought about modofiers in lights o.o I agree 100%
Can you make a subdivided plane, and instance the lights across the vertices?
