"Movie clip to image sequence" button or "Import movie clip as image sequence" option
For virtually every tracking task, I turn my movie clip into an image sequence and it is tedious monotonous task, that I think should be automatable very easily and would make a lot of people's workflow less annoying.
Maybe even more convenient, to give a checkbox option when importing a movieclip to import it as image sequence directly,

Update:
I have written a plugin that allows to import through a single button click and I am even using ffmpeg under-the-hood for the conversion to have the best of both worlds.

I'd agree if Blender was the best solution for this, or at least decent. But just on the process speed it gets destroyed big time by other tools.
That's why I just use ffmpeg on command line, I eventually write some batch files for recurrent tasks and it just does the job up to 4x faster than what Blender can do.
If you're interested i have a bunch of batch files for ffmpeg, and i just added a simple video to png, on my github: github.com/L0Lock/FFmpeg-bat-collection/
* @-L0Lock- * First, thanks for sharing that, that is actually great to know, but I do believe that many artists would appreciate a simpler workflow option (doesn't need to be used) within Blender. I think a checkbox on import would really make many artist's life easier. While there are more efficient ways to do it outside of blender, I feel like a little checkbox while taking 4 times as long would accelerate their workflow, because they can focus their work within blender. But it could just be my personal perception of the problem.
