Option to not interpolate attributes when using the extrude node
It can be quite useful to propagate the existing attribute values to the new geometry created when using an extrude node. But it can also be problematic.
I have a situation where I want to extrude some edges, tag the extruded edges with a boolean attribute (the top edges for example) and then extrude again and tag the new edges with a different boolean.
The problem is that the second set of edges now also share the boolean tag that I had originally set with the first set of extruded edges. This makes it hard to isolate these edges for work later in the network.
If we had an option to disable the propagation of attributes when extruding, then I could tag some edges, extrude them, and then tag the new ones without worrying that the new edges now share a tag with the older ones.
By default, the option would be enabled to continue to operate the way the extrude node currently does. But when unchecked, new edges, faces, and points would get the default value of an attribute instead of interpolating from the existing geometry.
