Add an Undo History Editor to Blender's editor types
Undo History's current submenu UI is really taxing, forcing us to do four UI actions:
- Click the Edit menu.
- Go to the Undo History submenu, which requires extra mousing precision.
- Read the list of steps to attempt to locate the one we want (usually one of several with the same description).
- Then select the step.
And typically repeat all those a few times until finding that specific step among many.
Having Undo History be available as an Editor, which would let us leave it constantly visible and updating as we work, would reduce those four steps to a single click, the way it usually works in most paint programs.
(Ideally, the Info Editor could work as an undo history editor, too, but it's probably a little too much. It would be an interesting contextual menu option when right-clicking on its lines, though)

In 3D, U only needs backups when u model. Animations, u can change with graph editor and motion paths. If its simulation, like fire, water, it has modifiers, u can just remove the modifier. And cell fracture, it fracture by duplicating it, not the original.
U can just make a copy of the model, and add it to garbage collection to back if u don't want the change, u have backup that way. Developers are working for cooler features to come. Don't disturb them with asking for features that u see image editors like gimp.
We going to get cool features like animation layers, bone picker and so on. Why behind some image editor features. As 3D artist, we don't use them much
Having a whole new editor just for that sounds overkill, when the only issue to begin with is to keep a menu open, and is much simpler to implement
I suspect the menu can't be kept open as Blender switches to a given step's state. And still I'd rather keep it visible, Photoshop's History palette-style. As I explained, UI-wise it is very frictional.
