Compact Tabs - reflowing multiple columns
When the Sidebar is in Compact Tabs mode, it still can overflow past the bottom of the viewport and require us to scroll them up or down to make the hidden tabs clickable.
I think it might be better to have them reflow into as many columns as needed. I suppose the current behavior is just the existing one for conventional tabs, and anything else might become a significant effort, but…
(I know, I know. I need an intervention 😅)

This idea has merit, but I also wonder whether the tab clutter is a symptom of an underlying problem. I've dabbled in making add-ons, and it's just so easy to make an add-on that lives in the sidebar, and harder to put it anywhere else. Maybe the Blender API needs to offer more (and easier) ways to integrate functionality into other parts of Blender, rather than just slapping another tab into the sidebar.
