Hierarchy - Scene collection
Objects that are child of an empty, or another object, should be hidden by default when you hide the parent.
It adds extra steps to hide everything by default..
Please remove the extra steps for things that are supposed to work like other software

Removing extra steps can be nice, but at what cost?
I often use Maya, and I am quite annoyed at how some object properties like visibility carries to children, and requires using extra steps to counteract.
I think Blender gives quite a nice in-between solution with its collections.
I totally agree. When you hide the parent, everything under it should be hidden too, just like how groups or layers work in Photoshop or other software. Like Lolock, I use both ways: sometimes I only want the parent hidden, other times I want everything hidden. But most of the time, I want everything hidden, so I think that should be the default. The same goes for deleting—when you delete the parent, everything under it should go too. So, if you only want to hide the parent, there should be a key you can press to do just that, instead of it being the other way around.
It's a great idea, but there are moments when I just need to hide the parents only- an alternate idea I would give is this: press the hide button, it hides the parent and children too, long press/right click the hide button, you get an option to hide only the parent. Or vice versa works too.
