A more intuitive Mask system is absolutely necessary for blenders.
Blender VSE Improvement Proposal: Modernizing Masking Workflow Subject: Proposal for a more intuitive Masking Workflow in the Video Sequence Editor (VSE) Hi, please note that I am using a translator, so there may be some minor errors in my phrasing. I would like to suggest a major improvement for the Video Sequence Editor (VSE). Currently, the masking workflow in the VSE is quite cumbersome and unintuitive compared to modern video editing software. The Current Issue: In most modern editors, masks can be added as easily as changing transform values. In Blender, however, the process is fragmented: one must open a separate Masking tab, bring in the file being edited, create the mask, and then bring that mask back into the VSE. While I understand that the Masking tool is shared across Blender, the current workflow is far from "intuitive." Proposed Improvements: On-Canvas Masking: Allow users to create and edit masks directly in the VSE Preview window while editing. Simplified Integration: Make it easier to create masks within the Masking tab without having to manually sync scenes or sources, or perhaps a one-click "Create Mask for Clip" button. Universal Masking: Please ensure that masks can be applied to all types of strips, including Color Strips (Single Color) and Scene Strips, not just movie clips. The VSE has great potential, and I believe a more streamlined masking system is essential for its growth as a competitive video editor. Thank you for your hard work!
