Convenient rendering of cycled animations

When rendering animation cycles, it's required to make them repeat multiple times

Currently it's either:

  • Render one loop
  • Go to a video editor
  • Stitch render duplicates together
  • Render it

or:

  • Make animation cyclic or copypaste keyframes (sometimes requires cleaning frames outside the range too)
  • Render the repeating cycle

First option is a lot of steps with an intermediate junk-render and the second option is rerendering the same data multiple times while also having a couple of "if's" and "but's"

It's disturbing the process and the extra time spent adds up with every new fix and every additional camera angle (which is always plenty when it comes to game-animation)

My suggestion is to have a simple operator for cycling render somewhere in render output settings изображение_2025-10-29_194809317.png Put a number in a field and when rendering animation, Blender will render it normally, then take the result and make it repeat for the given number of times

This is a task for a small pipeline script that you develop yourself. It's not hard to do and can be done entirely in Blender with the VSE
