Optimizing Large Interior Scenes in Blender – Tips Needed!

Hey everyone,

I’m currently working on a large interior scene (about 180m² with multiple rooms) and my .blend file has grown to over 2GB. Viewport performance is getting sluggish and render times are pretty long.

I’ve tried using linked assets and simplifying geometry where possible, but it's still quite heavy.

Any tips or best practices for optimizing large interior scenes? Would love to hear how you manage textures, lighting, and scene organization in big projects.

Thanks in advance!

Hi, Right-Click Select is a platform for discussing feature proposals for Blender. For any other kind of discussions, please use other platforms such as the Blender Artists Community or the Blender Chat . For technical help, another good option is Blender Stack Exchange .

Wait a better implmentation and optimizing from BF ! Blender are simply bad for having large scene and complex geometry that was an objectif from jeroen with VK backend after the release of vulkan. We waiting a thing similar like Nanite or Geometry streaming since so much time.... One day for sure ! Just wait 😂😂
