Focus distance in render passes

I was trying to achieve an effect similar to "Into the spiderverse" using this great Node setup Using the depth to make an RGB split depending on the range. image

Though i'll have to type in the "focus distance" manually, and there's seemingly no way to get the Camera's Focus distance into the compositor for this effect!? Meaning we can't do such trickery with animation

Could maybe be added in the camera data node also, instead of a render pass

Having the Focus distance be available in the compositor is sure to open up a plethora of other fancy effects as well. Together with the Depth range

If I'm not mistaken focus distance does not change per pixel, so it would be even better to be able to get it as a single value (instead of a whole render pass)

* @muhuk * When i first wrote it, i considered to suggest it as an addition to the camera data node. So that might be better

A much better solution would be to improve the node in compositor. I use a compositor where I simply move a target and the distance is set right - it's a very simple yet accurate workflow.
