Addons in the N-Panel -Clean up
The crowded N-Panel with a bunch of addons is really bad. We could use channels with numbers or names for grouping addons into categories for the user by himself. All we need are different channels.
The addons in the channels could may hide by a button for clean up and faster search in the N-Panel for the right category. I like the simple tabs addon solution too but channels would be great.
May we could group the channels in the addon installation Tab. The user can make his different groups and name his category. For example - Texture Addons or Geometry Addons. Anyone get the idea ? Here and quick and dirty picture. You could call it Addon-Workspaces!
Addendum: I adopted the idea from my work as a musician from the DAW´s (Digital Audio Workstations) i work with. I have over 600 Addons (Vst´s) to Sort and with that "Channel-Solution" it worked quiet well.
greets!

îm using a combination of pie menu editor and another addon .. but thats far from optimal though .. pie menu editor is very powerfull , you can even add npanels to other property tabs, menues and whatnot and then hide the panel completely.
but a built in panel sorter is much needed. npanels are the big downfall of the user experience in blender. the best would be max and maya behaviour where addon ui opens in a small subwindow which you can put on your second monitor.
in blender a popout function could do it and be in line with design goals ast the same time ... like shitftclick an npanel in the upperleft corner and it pops out into a small window (like the expression editor)
There is a new addon just released called Clean Panel. It works far better than any other addon that tries to fix this Blender problem. The dreaded N-Panel mess. I have it and it works greater than all the others. Its not free but its real cheap. They are having a sale that ends Jun10th. Get it here: blendermarket.com/products/clean-panels
For the clutter in the N Panel I designed the N Panel Manager. While it doesn't manage the N Panel directly, it solves the clutter problem by making use of workspace filtering. The N Panel Manager provides quite some filtering options, and a UI to manage your setup. See: blendermarket.com/products/n-panel-manager
there is an addon by chipp walter for that and also blender devs maybe working on it as it is requested many times.
