It helps to identify the slot where a render was made. When the renderings are similar they can be identified by their name.

I agree! Also, it would be good to have an option (as a checkbox) that allows to render into a new slot automatically, so you don't accidentally render over the last one.
YES. YES. YES that's all I can say No, I can say something more..... It would be nice to have the "new screen" remain floating on top so you can see the current render while changing settings.
