Rigging 2d characters

I think grease pencil fills and points needs some care , specially that we have all options to have a nice rig for 2d shapes

I attached an image explains how we can subdivide fills to have a fine weight distribution to smooth the distortion with 4 hooks (yellow) , instead of beauty triangulation which I guess this how triangulation works with fills in grease pencil , you can add this "ngon-centers" subdivision ,I assume changing to this will be better to handle with bones

There is another approach which is in moho (a fine cartoon creation tool) , is to fill things according to Bezier curves or completely vector , in blender once converted to a mesh it gets an n-gon fill , but as grease pencil object this fill is associated with boundaries in 2d mode , and suggested subnivium in 3d mode

* @tche_adriano * it seems incomplete ... do you have the add-on link itself ?

As far as Blender do not have true 2D, there should be solution for 3D. But Grease Pencil fill is very tricky thing. It is 2D with Z-depth, based on 3D contour. So fill can not be subdivided. But shape can.

for textured meshed you can use surface deform, hooks, and any modifier you like.
