DRAG AND DROP FEATURES

Please add the capacity to drag and drop any files ( obj , fbx ,whatever) in the blender viewport in order to open them with the option to open them in the same scene already opened or in a new scene/window , a bit like a new tab , it's very time consuming to use the import option sometimes . Every software has it .

Also please add the capacity to drag and drop multiple textures in the shader editor , you can select multiple textures in the browser ,however when you drag n drop them ,it just creates one node with one textures . So you have to select one texture at a time ..it slow down the process. Draging a texture in the slots in the menu ,would be nice too !

Also a thumbnail preview of the texture by default would be nice , when there is too much textures nodes it's hard to know what is what ,for now i use an addon who does this so i hope all that stuff 's gonna be added :) !

if you drag n drop a texture ,let's say a diffuse , and you hover with your mouse a node with an already plugged texture , it would just replace the texture instantly ,it would be cool too instead of creating a new node !or add the choice to replace or to add the texture

For Hdri it would be cool that when you drag and drop an Hdri it creates an environment texture automatically

Also ( also ) would be nice to have a material window like in c4d/ keyshot etc where you can just drag and drop materials ( wich are previewed in a thumbnails ,not a red icon ) on an object both in the viewport ,or in the outliner or in the menu ,i know there is a workaround for the viewport ,but still ,i think blender would gain in clarity in the UI Also the benefit of this is that for example it would be easier to select multiple materials , changing settings like for example the roughness , you could change change the roughness or any settings to multiple materials at once , you could merge materials on top of each other who share the same texture etc etc

Yes please. Coming from other software i tend to keep trying to drag fbx files into the viewport. A bit dissapointing to have to select what you will import, navigating through 18 folders and then realizing your import file is an obj...

* @kurt * yeah man ,it's so slow to go through endless browsing especially when you want to populate a scene with assets or jus check some meshes drag and drop woud be just logical ,every software does it ! i hope it will come at some point. It 's basic ergonomy !

This is very important indeed! Helps a lot on the workflow. All of the programs I use support this.

when is it planned to be integrated? I guess it is essential to get blender back to a quicker workflow speed....
