Blender Grease Pencil - Motion Tween Keyframes

Being able to create live auto-updating interpolation would be amazing (Automatic Motion Tweening).

This means the two keys that are selected will have an automatic update on them. This is really great for setting up animated libraries or things like head turns.

An option to convert a "live key" to normal will need to be an option as well. This will also need to happen over multiple keys as well.

Interpolate strokes options may include The current 2 and a 3rd called Live Sequence

  1. Interpolate
  2. Sequence (Live check box option maybe?)
  3. Live Sequence

This could be just 2 options with the sequence having a check box to be live or not.

The image shows off and an alternative may be a more flexible method, but probably more difficult to setup.

IMPORTANT FOR ARTIST TO UNDERSTAND As for interpolation of the line:

You can see the importance of it here in this link in just building out your shapes. The start and the end of the stroke are really important for the correct animation to happen. You can see this by the red and the green dots both in the image and in the video. This importance is the same in any other software as well.

Btw, I suspect non-baked tweening would probably be highly welcomed by the Adobe Animate orphans...

It would be important to have a way to link strokes in the same layer for when there are multiple strokes and strokes drawn in their own frames instead of just modified from the start. Perhaps something simple as selecting a pair of strokes in multiframe mode and hitting a shortcut (or menu command, or sidebar button etc) to link them, and and easy setting to flip the stroke direction in case the transition turns upside down.

And you would probably want a way to chain the keys, so that there can be intermediary keyframes for more complex tweening sequences. So maybe just a special begin-tween keyframe, implies tweening to the next frame, and I'm not sure there would be a need for a special end-tween keyframe, since whatever keyframe is picked at the end would only have implications from that point onwards (but maybe I'm missing something, not too familiar with Grease Pencil)

edit: Oh, and perhaps it would be useful to have a way to expand the layer in the dope-sheet so that strokes can have their own keyframes without necessarily messing with they keyframes of other strokes.
