RIGGING/RIGIFY: SELECTING 1 BONE LAYER ONLY, WHEN CLICKING IN THE 'RIG LAYER PANEL'

Hello.

The current bone layer system located in the rig's Data panel has a wonderful behaviour.

The behaviour consists in that when you click in one of your bone layers, you know, one of those dots, in the panel, the selected bone layer passes to be 'in use'. While the other of the layers pass to be automatically disabled.

This behaviour is perfect, because it allows you to easily and in one click, select the bone layer that you want, while disabling the ones you don't want.

This filters instantly unnecesary bones, and lets you focus only in the bones you need. And makes your vision clearer.

Also, it has another advantage. If you want more than one layer selected, the only thing you have to do is to shift+click to select more layers. And more layers are activated in an 'additive way'.

This is perfect.

Unfortunately, working in this panel is not easy. There are 32 layers, and they do not have names. So it's difficult to know which bones are in which layer at first sight.

For that, we have the N panel.

In Rigify, or in the addon Bone Layer Manager, we have a panel called Item>Rig Layers, in which we have all the layers with their names.

The problem is that this panel DO NOT WORK like the other one.

This panel always works additively. Whenever you press a layer, it gets activated, and at the same time, the previously selected layer remains activated too.

Would be good if this panel could work like the other one. So we can filter, or add more layers with the selection, by pressing shift or not.

Thanks for your time.

Please do not abuse capital letters, It hurts readability and is often interpreted as yelling.

That would be more about Blender's UI features than rigging/rigify feature. Blender doesn't allow to do that with buttons and doesn't have an alternative that behaves like the bone layers widget but with text.

Maybe when creating buttons for boolproperties, there could be an option to make them behave like that, which would be Off by default to keep things compatible.
