Edge flow and loop tools activated by default?

Hi all, I think that the edge flow plugin and the loop tools should be activated by default by now. Is there any reason why these two plugins are not implemented by default in Blender yet? Most people using Blender for modeling use them all the time.

Completely agree with this. There are several functions in such add-ons that are standard features in other 3D software, and Blender shouldn't make these things an extra step.

The answer might be in your question. You say that "most people using Blender for modeling", I'd say that is debatable. There are certainly a lot of Blender users mainly doing modeling with it, but there are also many other people who don't model often, if at all. And I would argue that a non-negligible amount of poly-modelers don't use these tools much either.

Though to be honest, I haven't seen a clear official statement of why addons are enabled by default in Blender. Node wrangler is another very popular addon that isn't enabled by default.

Totally agree. Blender is used by so many people with so many requirements, and also has so many addons to choose from (which might make internal addons obsolete and unwanted even) that it's not the best to think 'everybody' wants such things to be enabled by default. It's easy enough to just turn it on when needed.
