Bone physics

Pretty much what the title says : enable bones to have physics with control over their mass, dampening, bending, jittering and so on. This would react to things like force fields, collision object and would be found under the physics panel called something like “loose bone” :)

Yes, it’s possible to do this as it’s now by parenting bones to rigid body constraints but that setup is pretty messy and doesn’t give you fine control over the bones physics. Just heading over to the physics panel and applying everything with one click would be immensely more efficient.

Not only would bone physics make Ragg dolls, leaves, chains simpler to simulate, they could also be used to give make animating much simpler by simulating the bodys inertia: If you have a character punching through the air all you would have to do would be creating keyframes for the start and end of the fists movement. The bone physics would create the non-linear slowdown and shakiness that occur when the arm is fully stretched out.
