Support order independent transparency
Transparency for real-time graphics are a complicated issue that is hard to get right. Fortunately there are ways to make it more simple to use. I believe that blender sorts transparent objects based on how far away from the camera they are. They are drawn from back to front. If a mesh intersects with it self there will be artefacts. All this can be simplified by using an Order Independent Transparency like this pubweb.eng.utah.edu/~cs5610/lectures/OrderIndependentTransparency.pdf

Have you tested Blender 2.8's x-ray view ?
It doesn't show the issue you mentioned, right ?
@-L0Lock-: Yes, this is what I ment in my comment... It seems to be implemented in the Solid Xray... but isn't in EEVEE. Probably on the way...
The Solid render mode seems to have better sorting so this may be on it's way?
