Curve to SDF Node

Currently, it is not possible to convert a curve directly to an SDF. There are several indirect routes, but they all have significant disadvantages.

The curve can be converted to points, which may be passed to a Points to SDF node, but this requires the curve to be resampled at a potentially very high density, inversely proportional to its radius.

The curve can be converted to a mesh, and a sort of SDF-lite created using a Geometry Proximity node set to Edge mode feeding into a manually defined grid, but this is not treated by Blender as a true SDF grid, and thus cannot be processed using SDF-specific nodes. It also has limitations with regards to curves with non-uniform radii.

A Curve to SDF node would be quite useful for a number of applications, including stylized hair, cables, various organic shapes, etc.
