Bring texture generation nodes to Blender's compositor
Currently the Blender’s compositor does not provide texture generation nodes (such as noise, voronoi, wave, etc which exist in both shader nodes and geometry nodes). If we want these textures, we would probably have to import them (which may come from rendering a material) using the input texture node. This can kill the iterating process and violate the non-destructuve principle of a procedual worklflow. (and most compositing tools like nuke and fusion have at least a set of simple textures)
So it’ll be nice it we have texture generation nodes in the compositor too
- According to my understanding, the built-in textures inside Blender is currently independent from the renderers so they can technically be reused by the compositor
- As Blender's built-in textures are 3D based, we can use it by considering the rendered image as a vector coordinate space with Z=0 or Z=time or frame
Thanks for the attention!

The Texture nodes has been in since 4.5? developer.blender.org/docs/release_notes/4.5/compositor/
