Career Mode (Tutorials)
Blender has too many features. Career mode would disable almost all of them, then allow players to unlock new features using points earned by completing projects. Naturally users would be able to swap between career and creative mode at any time.
The idea is just to gamify the system a bit. Restricting features in this way makes the software more accessible to new users while simultaneously providing incentives to learn more about Blender beyond pure creativity.
At the moment, learning how to use a new tool in Blender doesn't really feel like meaningful progress towards mastery of Blender as a whole. It feels like an insignificant drop in a vast ocean of features you'll never be able to swim through.
Feature restriction and earning XP for time spent modeling would go a long way on its own. A well organized tech tree and a series of engaging missions catered to the latest available tools would be a bit better. Incentivise people to move onto more advanced modeling techniques by making the use of said techniques more rewarding. Explain how a feature works when its unlocked, perhaps through skipable but repeatable animatics, and then let players puzzle out how it helps them with their current scenario.
There comes a point in the learning process where the creativity involved is its own reward, but it takes time to get there, and I doubt I'm the only one who would be helped by a built-in system meant to make the ugly phase more fun.
