String to Collection
Having the ability to do operation on collection name could save us a lot of time and really simplify geonode creation time.
I did it already with a nodgroup but I'm limited to single character collection name.
Exemple of my use case is for dressing restaurant tables. With the string 4RCD It joins a 4 places (R)ound table with 4 (C)hair and 4 (D)ressing (forks, plates,glass....)
But where will be plenty of other usages

Excellent, we do need more string tools. We could also use a collection to string, or object to string as well.
Agreed. It would be even more useful if we could pass a name of the data block (be it material, object, collection etc.) as a string, select a type from the dropdown and get actual item if it exists. Node could be named "Search Data" or "String to Data".
Also we need reverse node for this "Data to String" where we would get item name string as a return. For example i have some nodes for displaying info in the 3d viewport. Like "Collection 1: 128 tris" Currently i have to enter the name manually for each collection which is not ideal.
You should be dragging the collection input to the group input, and choosing the collection name in the property panel.
