Run modal tool when re-invoking active tool
In version 3.0_Alpha it is possible to activate:
·Tools Keys Active Tool (= activates Active Tools with a single key)
·Alt Tool Access from the preferences (= run the tools using Alt+LMB)
This allows accessing and executing the active tools better, but on the contrary, accessing the modal tools is worse.
If once the tool is active, it is called again with the same keyboard shortcut or by clicking on the icon, the action should be initialized.
Example:
· G+G = Move
· G = Move (if the Move Tool is already active)
Alt + LMB does it, but you have to hold down LMB, and this does not allow you to access the modal options well.
I think that this way we could even eliminate the modal tools as such, and simplify the menus a lot. All the tools could be grouped in a single menu on the menu bar, without differentiating whether they are modal or active.
Currently, if you double-click an access to an active tool such as W + W, the selection tools alternate, and this would conflict with my proposal. The alternation of the similar active tools could be done by keeping the key pressed, and showing the Pie Menu to choose the active tool.
