Math Multi Inputs (Best Solution ? )
This is an old problem in the Blender community, I think I found a way to solve it, the idea is simply to make the "merge input" appear when two values are connected.
Of course, if there is only one node left, the entry will be returned.
Available for Add, Substract and Multiply. Also in Vector Math.
Feel free to give your opinion I wonder if this solution could put everyone in agreement..

I like my proposal. blender.community/c/rightclickselect/wKnM/
This is in the plans, but now there are a lot of problems due to which it has not yet been added.
Hello,
I was thinking about this (again) just today when adding three quantities before multiplication by a fourth. One of the thoughts was, "why hasn't this been implemented already" similarly to multiple geometry inputs - as you show here.
A couple notes:
I would not merge the upper and lower input nodes. It works for addition/multiplication (which are transitive), but not for subtraction (or division which you left out of your proposal). If I ask you to add three numbers, that's easy. If I ask you to subtract three numbers, it's less clear what to do.
If you are relying on noodle placement - i.e., the top noodle is where to start - it could be tough trying to keep the connections in order. Also, by leaving the two inputs separate, upon removing the last noodle of the bottom input you are left with a value input like you show, but it does not appear from nowhere.
Having two inputs both of which could take multiple inputs would be useful. For addition/multiplication, it could help with clarity and debugging (useful, but not incredible). For subtraction, connecting multiple noodles to the top input would act as an add node, and you could then connect multiple noodles to the bottom input which would be summed before subtraction. Similarly for division.
Lastly, vector math. Perhaps, but I suspect it gets more complicated, particularly with rotations.
I thought the same thing before I came across the "join strings" in the geonode..
That's what gave me this idea, keep the double entry by default because it's very convenient, but use the join string system when there are more entries.
But I share your opinion it is essential that the operating priorities are clear
